Most marketplaces disclose their APIs so that eCommerce applications and software solutions can access e-store data. Businesses, for their part, must integrate with APIs in order to gain access to the previously mentioned store data. APIs serve as a link between your system and the databases of the marketplace. As a result, marketplace integration is a must for gaining access to the client’s store data.
The Etsy API uses OAuth to give both read and write access to users’ public and private data and provides a simple RESTful interface with lightweight JSON-formatted answers to use many of Etsy’s website features, including public profiles, shops, listings, tags, favorites, and sales data.
The Etsy API employs a RESTful calling style that is compatible with regular HTTP requests. HTTP networking calls should be able to be made and received by any web programming language (PHP, Ruby, Perl, Python, Java, Objective C, C#, etc.).
